Call for papers: About Performance #11: In-between Moves
The 2011 issue of About Performance is dedicated to writing about moving. Collected under the sub-title of In-between Moves articles in this issue will deal with hybrid practices and motion as their primary concerns; motion in or across forms, places, times or bodies. Guest editors Amanda Card and Justine Shih Pearson are interested in articles that address the cross-cultural, the inter-disciplinary, the trans-national, the cross-genre, the inter-generational and/or the transitional in relation to everyday/extradaily movement and/or dance.
In keeping with the editorial philosophy of About Performance, and disciplinary associations of the journal to its home in the Department of Performance Studies at the University of Sydney, In-between Moves will adhere to the widest possible definition of movement and dance. Your article might consider relations between everyday movement and extra-daily movement or dance, between dance and other performance genres (eg music, visual art, theatre, film), between movement and other disciplines (eg science, maths, philosophy, psychology). It might explore motion across time, space, generations and/or cultures.
