General Information

The Discipline of Drama, located within the School of Drama, Fine Art and Music is seeking to appoint a person to a one-year position at an Academic Level B commencing in 2010. The Discipline teaches a broad range of courses including contemporary performance practices, historical contexts, genre studies, acting with a particular emphasis on physical thaetre, the fundamentals of directing and writing for the stage as well as specific courses on lighting, sound and stage management.

The position is available on a full-time, fixed-term basis for one year.

Position Description

Selection Criteria

  • Evidence of a track record in research and/or performance and creative practice
  • Experience in teaching performance-based courses
  • Willingness to teach across the Drama curriculum
  • Ability to supervise honours and postgraduate students
  • Capacity to contribute to the cultural life of the discipline of Drama within the School of Fine Art and Music, particularly in the development of a cross-disciplinary curriculum
  • An interest in applied drama or some other area of extra-theatrical performance

The Position Classification Standard for Lecturer, Level B should be viewed before applying.

 

Conditions and Benefits

Academic Level B — $71,832 to $85,302 per annum. Salary level within this range will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

The University will provide a basic level of superannuation to Unisuper Accumulation 1. Contributor superannuation with additional employer contributions is also available with this appointment.

A range of flexible salary packaging is also available.
