Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Drama at the University of Queensland.

The School of Communication and Arts is searching for an exceptional individual as Associate Lecturer (Level A) or Lecturer (Level B) in Drama to leave their mark on the performing arts. We particularly welcome applications from drama academics who have active professional profiles in the theatre industry and can work with colleagues to enhance the major’s work-integrated learning options and strengthen connections to industry. The ideal candidate will have teaching or professional expertise in performative communication, which may include experience teaching Alexander and Feldenkrais techniques and the Linklater voice method.

The successful candidate will teach across our undergraduate Drama major, conduct high-quality scholarship of teaching, foster engagement with external stakeholders and partners, and contribute to the collegial environment of the School and University.

About You

  • Completion of a PhD or equivalent in drama, theatre studies or a closely related field
  • An emerging profile (Level A) or growing profile (Level B) in teaching with evidence of high-quality University teaching in Drama across a variety of settings with course coordination responsibilities
  • Ability to coordinate courses and contribute to the development and innovation of curricula and course material
  • An emerging record of supervision of student projects
  • Experience in internal service roles and an emerging profile (Level A) or growing profile (Level B) of professional expertise that complements the School.

In addition to the above, for appointment at Level B:

  • Ability to develop curricula and design effective learning materials and assessment tasks
  • Evidence of ability to supervise student projects to successful completion
  • Active contributions to external service activities.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check.
